Foundation Introduces Andrew Walker as New Chief Executive Officer

Tallahassee, FL (April 14, 2016) – The Fish & Wildlife Foundation of Florida today announced the appointment of Andrew Walker as its new Chief Executive Officer.

“We are so pleased to have Andrew Walker join our team at the Foundation,” Chairman Rodney Barreto said. “His experience and leadership will help us to continue to grow and fulfill our mission working with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC).”

“Fundraising is a vital part in the success of a not-for-profit organization, so Andrew’s proven track record is a real plus for us,” Barreto continued. “We expect him to be a visionary leader that will help take the Foundation to the next level of success.”

“We all welcome Andy to the FWC family and we looking forward to his contribution,” said Nick Wiley, FWC Executive Director.

Walker has a history of successful conservation leadership with other organizations, most recently as Executive Director of Bat Conservation International since 2013. Before that he served 23 years with The Nature Conservancy where he held a variety of leadership posts in New York, Arizona and elsewhere, working with partner organizations throughout the United States, Latin America, the Caribbean and Asia-Pacific.

“It’s an honor to have been selected to lead the Fish & Wildlife Foundation of Florida,” said Walker. “It’s a well-respected organization serving the leading state natural resources agency in the country. I look forward to this challenge and wonderful opportunity.”

Walker officially joins the Foundation on May 31. He currently lives in Sarasota with his wife and family.
