Bass Pro Shops Founder and CEO Announced as BlueGreen 2018 Speaker

Tallahassee, FL (August , 2018) The Fish and Wildlife Foundation of Florida (FWFF) announced that Johnny (John L.) Morris, Bass Pro Shops Founder and CEO, will be the guest of honor and speaker at BlueGreen 2018.

A lifelong conservationist, Mr. Morris is one of the country’s leaders working to ensure natural habitats, wildlife, and the outdoors remain healthy and abundant for future generations. Morris got his start in 1972 by selling fishing tackle out of the back of his father’s store. Since then, he has earned a reputation as one of the most visionary and influential retailers of the last 50 years.

BlueGreen 2018 will be held Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 6pm at Armature Works in Tampa, overlooking the Hillsborough River along Tampa’s vibrant Riverwalk. The evening includes a cocktail hour, dinner, silent and live auctions, and music by the Matt Winter Band.  The premiere auction item is a 22-foot Contender Sport with 250 HP Yamaha engine and custom Loadmaster trailer. Proceeds benefit the many programs of FWFF, which since 1994 has raised and given away more than $30 million in collaboration with the Florida Fish and Wildlife and Conservation Commission (FWC), among other public and private partners.

FWFF President and CEO Andrew Walker said, “We are honored to celebrate Mr. Morris’s work at BlueGreen 2018. Few people have done as much to promote wise stewardship and enjoyment of our natural world.  His life is an inspiring testament to the positive change one person can make in conservation. This is a night you will not want to miss.”
