Two hunters in Okeechobee

Preserving Our Outdoor Heritage

The conservation movement began in the 19th Century when the hunting and fishing community, best exemplified by President Theodore Roosevelt, became alarmed at the decline of wildlife and pristine natural areas. The hunting and fishing community remains one of the most important funders and advocates for sustainable wildlife management and natural areas conservation. Our Foundation works closely with the FWC and many hunting and fishing groups and the outdoor recreation industry to keep Florida beautiful and abundant.
