Ignacio Borbolla Press Release

Hispanic Business Leader Joins FWFF Board of Directors

The Fish and Wildlife Foundation of Florida (FWFF) has announced the appointment of Ignacio Borbolla to its Board of Directors. The newest Hispanic member of the Board, he resides in Coral Gables with his wife of 28 years, Letty.

Borbolla and his family immigrated to the United States from Cuba when he was nine years old. In 1989, he opened his own Allstate Insurance Agency, which now employs a staff of 15 sales professionals who serve and protect the needs of more than 10,000 policyholders. Along the way, he earned many awards, including the prestigious Allstate Hall of Fame Award, a distinction fewer than 100 agents throughout the company have earned.

His lifelong appreciation of nature and the outdoors began with childhood fishing excursions to the piers in South Beach with his father and grandfather. Still an avid angler, he serves on the Board of the Miami Dolphins Foundation’s Fishing Tournament. A licensed US Merchant Marine officer, he has boated extensively throughout the Florida Coast and the Bahamas and also enjoys hunting and horseback riding.

His love of the great outdoors has made him a fierce advocate of conservation of Florida’s wildlife, natural habitats, and the protection of animals. He has supported numerous FWFF projects over the years, and he and his wife sponsor several horse and dog rescues.

“We are very happy that Ignacio has joined our Board of Directors,” said Rodney Barreto, Chairman of the FWFF. “He brings a wealth of valuable business and outdoor experience, and his understanding of Hispanic culture will be a tremendous asset as we expand our outreach to that important segment of our community.”
