Kent Shoemaker joins foundation board

St. Petersburg, FL (May 9, 2022) – Kent Shoemaker, CEO of Lipman Family Farms, has been appointed to the Fish & Wildlife Foundation of Florida’s board of directors at its April meeting.

Foundation board chair Carlos Alfonso welcomed Shoemaker to the three-year appointment, citing his enthusiasm for the outdoors as an asset. “We are thrilled to welcome Kent to the board. His professional experience, personal passion and location in Winter Park provide a needed perspective. We are eager to work with him to conserve wild Florida,” Alfonso said.

A Florida State University graduate, Shoemaker has spent his career in fresh produce. For the past 12 years he has been the first non-family member to run Lipman family Farms, a fourth-generation, family-owned company that has been in business for over 80 years. He is also a member of the Florida Council of 100.

“I have been diving in Florida waters since I was 12 and catching saltwater fish before then,” Shoemaker said. “I am committed to ensuring that my grandchildren have the same incredible wildlife and outdoor recreational opportunities I have been fortunate enough to experience. It is an honor to work with the Foundation to do so.”
