Graphic Design Internship

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Fall 2023 Graphic Design Intern will work with the Digital Marketing Manager to design and execute assets for events and print and digital communications.

KEY KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • An eagerness to learn and create memorable designs in a deadline driven environment.
  • Must provide a portfolio or examples of your work.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and InDesign.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
  • Experience in or appreciation for conservation and the outdoors a plus.
  • Fluent Spanish a plus.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Managing project expectations with set deadlines.
  • Presenting concept images and designs in preparation for final artwork.
  • Receiving constructive feedback and making edits as needed.
  • Knowledge of brand guidelines and how to apply them.
  • Exposure to a nonprofit conservation environment.

DISCRETION/LATITUDE/DECISION-MAKING

  • Duties are performed under general supervision and established guidelines.
  • Demonstrates common sense, flexibility, and teamwork with the ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Opportunity to act independently on assigned tasks. Refers difficult questions and unusual problems to the Digital Marketing Manager.

COMMUNICATIONS/INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS

  • Demonstrated experience using effective interpersonal skills, listening, diplomacy, and tact to build strong professional relationships.
  • Well-developed written and oral communication and organizational skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL EFFORT

  • This is a Tampa Bay-based work from home position.
  • Work is performed in a typical office setting and requires only minor physical exertion and/or physical strain.
