Breanne Strepina

Florida Fish & Wildlife Foundation of Florida
Major Gifts and Events Manager

Breanne joined the Foundation in 2017 as Major Gifts & Events Manager. Though born and raised in Illinois, she never wanted to live anywhere else but Florida after her first trip to the Florida Keys.  She started volunteering for the Fish & Wildlife Research Institute (FWRI) while earning her degree in Biology at the University of South Florida in Tampa.  Straight out of college, her career began with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) as an Outreach Coordinator for FWRI.  She then accepted a Biologist III position with FWC’s Habitat and Species Conservation Section.  She focused on changes in animal behavior due to human-wildlife interaction, and educating homeowners living in delicate habitats which could occupy species such as beach nesting birds and sea turtles, Florida black bears, panthers, and every protected species in between!  In 2010, she was invited to join FWC’s newest section: the Florida Youth Conservation Centers Network (FYCCN). FYCCN aims to uphold Florida’s outdoor heritage by educating and empowering Florida’s youth and educators with outdoor know-how and conservation concepts. As the Statewide Partnership Coordinator, Breanne created networks of local public and private facilities to coordinate a smooth, integrated approach to connecting children and families to the Wild Outdoors through active, nature-based recreation.  Cooperative land agreements, infrastructure support, political support and pooling of funding for these efforts have maximized available resources, and will continue to do so with the help of the Fish & Wildlife Foundation of Florida, which ensures maximum bang for the donor and taxpayer dollar.

Breanne has earned the following certifications: National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) Level II Instructor, JOAD Level II Archery Instructor, Archery Instructor for Boy Scouts of America, Level II ACA Kayak and Canoe Instructor, FWC Fishing Instructor, and FWC Hunt Master. She and her husband Scott live in Tampa and have two little boys, Brennan and Finnegan.
