Douglas P. Cone, Jr. brings to the beverage industry 31 years of experience, serving over 22 counties in North and Central Florida, generating over $100+ Million in annual local revenue and employing over 300 people.
He is an active board member of the Ocala/Marion County Chamber and Economic Partnership, a local economic development council, having served 2 consecutive terms as Chairman. This, along with many other community contributions, was noticed by Florida Trend magazine, awarding him the title of Ocala’s most influential man. He is also an active member of the Beer Industry of Florida, having previously served 13 consecutive terms as Chairperson, 3 consecutive terms as Chairperson of the Coors Distributor Council, Chairperson to both State and Regional National Beer Wholesalers Association and was Chairperson of their National PAC in 2012. Due to his many years of dedication, hard work and success, he was recognized with the coveted MillerCoors Legends award. To this date, he remains the youngest member to ever achieve this honor.
Prior to moving to Ocala in 1983, he resided in Tampa, FL, where he was born and raised. Attending Centre College in Danville, KY, he earned bachelor’s degrees in Business, Philosophy and History. He returned to Tampa to pursue a career in the Insurance industry. True to his entrepreneurial spirit, he decided to seek other opportunities and discovered a small Ocala Distributorship up for sale. Having a passion for the business and 31 years later, he has taken a company from survival, thru turnaround, into growth mode, turning a $1.6 million business to a $100+ million business that is thriving and growing daily.
He remains an active and integral member of the Beer Industry and the communities in which he lives and does business.
Being a sportsman; he enjoys hunting, fishing, recreational scuba diving and is both a UF Gator Booster and an FSU Golden Chief.
Doug is a family first man, married to his wife of 31 years, and has 3 beautiful children.
