Suncoast Youth Conservation Center

The Suncoast Youth Conservation Center in Apollo Beach is the FWC’s newest flagship camp and focuses on the ecology of the Gulf Coast and teaching kids to kayak, fish and study nature. Our Foundation made a $300,000 start-up grant in 2016 to outfit the camp with interactive educational displays, lab equipment, kayaks and other outdoor gear. Now we are raising funds for scholarships for youth from economically disadvantaged families and for school field trips. We are also raising the last $28,000 for a $500,000 wheelchair-accessible boardwalk and fishing pier that will ring the saltwater pond and marsh adjacent to the Suncoast Center.
