Dear Dani,

I usually make one donation at the end of the year, but lately I’ve noticed more charities encouraging monthly giving. Is it really better to give a little each month than one larger gift?

Dear Steady Supporter,

That’s a great question, and the answer might surprise you.

The truth is there isn’t a “better” way to give. Whether you make one annual gift or choose to give throughout the year, every donation helps protect Florida’s wildlife and wild places.

That said, monthly giving has some unique advantages. For many people, it is simply easier on the budget. A gift of $25 each month may feel more manageable than writing a $300 check all at once, but by the end of the year you have made the same meaningful impact.

Recurring gifts also help the Foundation plan ahead. Conservation does not happen only at the end of the year. Wildlife rescues, habitat restoration, education programs, and research take place every month. Knowing we can count on dependable support allows us to respond more quickly and confidently when opportunities and challenges arise.

One of my favorite things about monthly giving is that it makes generosity part of your routine. You set it up once, and each month you are helping Florida’s fish, wildlife, and natural habitats without having to remember to make another gift.

Whether your gift is $10, $25, or $50 a month, it joins with others to create lasting impact. Together, recurring donors provide steady support that helps ensure future generations can enjoy the same wild Florida we treasure today.

Thank you for asking, and thank you for caring. Every gift, no matter how it is given, helps keep Florida wild.

Warmly,
Dani
