Dear Dani,

I’ve been in full spring-cleaning mode—closets, junk drawers, all of it. It got me thinking: should I be doing a financial spring clean too? I’m in my 30s, and while I’ve got retirement accounts and some savings, I’ve never thought about planned giving. Is now a weird time to start?

Dear Spring Cleaner,

Spring’s the perfect time to clear out the cobwebs—not just in your garage, but in your finances too. And yes, even if you’re early in your career, it’s not too early to think about planned giving.

Just like tidying up your closet makes space for the good stuff, planned giving helps you make space for your values in your financial future. An easy way to start planned giving is by adding the Foundation as a beneficiary to a retirement account or life insurance policy—it’s a simple step that can have a big impact on protecting Florida’s wildlife.

It’s not about giving everything away now. It’s about planting seeds today that can grow into a lasting legacy. And trust me, it feels just as satisfying as tossing those mismatched Tupperware lids.

Warmly,
Dani
