Casting a Line for the Next Generation of Anglers

In marine conservation, it helps to cast a wide net to find solutions to the challenges our oceans face. That’s why we are thrilled to support the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) in awarding grants to 50 schools across the state through the School Fishing Club Program. These grants, funded in part by our generous donors Mrs. Connie and Mr. Garner Koons, provide essential resources to nurture young anglers and instill a lifelong respect for Florida’s diverse aquatic ecosystems.

Each school fishing club receives $500, as well as comprehensive educational materials to ensure students have the tools they need to explore the waters responsibly and sustainably. Whether it’s purchasing gear, learning about ethical angling like proper releasing methods, or participating in conservation projects, these clubs are paving the way for a new generation of conservation-minded anglers.

Our partnership with FWC, along with the support of other local and national sponsors like the Coastal Conservation Association, Mud Hole Custom Tackle, Hobie Eyewear, Pure Fishing, and Flambeau Outdoors, demonstrates the power of collaboration.

It’s not just about teaching kids to fish; it’s about fostering a connection to wildlife and our outdoor heritage that will last a lifetime. If you want to help us keep Florida wild for generations to come, purchase a Discover Florida’s Oceans plate today.
