We are thrilled to share that we have been named a finalist for Loggerhead Marinelife Center’s 2026 Blue Nonprofit of the Year Award for our leadership in launching Florida’s Coastal Corridor.
Presented as part of Loggerhead Marinelife Center’s 17th Annual Go Blue Awards, the honor recognizes businesses and nonprofit organizations making outstanding contributions to the conservation or restoration of marine life and ecosystems. Winners will be announced October 30th at the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach.
Recognizing Florida’s Coastal Corridor
The Foundation was selected as a finalist for its work helping establish Florida’s Coastal Corridor, a statewide initiative advancing coastal habitat restoration through collaboration among the Foundation, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, and public and private partners.
Florida’s Coastal Corridor is designed to create a more coordinated approach to restoring the habitats that support Florida’s fisheries, wildlife, coastal communities, and outdoor recreation. The initiative brings together projects that restore and enhance marine habitats, including artificial reefs, seagrass, mangroves, and other coastal ecosystems, while helping move conservation projects from funding to implementation.
A major step in launching the initiative was a strong showing of support from the legislature and governor through a $15 million appropriation specifically for Coastal Corridor habitat restoration projects across the state. The Foundation also is working to raise private support, build partnerships, and help advance projects throughout Florida.
About the Go Blue Awards
Loggerhead Marinelife Center’s annual Go Blue Awards recognize individuals, young conservationists, businesses, and nonprofit organizations making significant contributions to ocean conservation.
Our Foundation is one of three finalists for the 2026 Blue Nonprofit of the Year Award, alongside Miami Waterkeeper and the Perry J. Cohen Foundation. Finalists are evaluated by an independent panel of judges. The recognition reflects the growing momentum behind Florida’s Coastal Corridor and the partnerships making its work possible.
