Going Batty with Salty 3D Prints

When Breanna and Alex of Salty 3D Prints talk about their work, it is clear that their art is about more than creating beautiful objects. From their Florida studio, they design and 3D print jewelry, sculptures, and educational pieces inspired by wildlife. Each creation, whether a sea turtle keychain, manatee figurine, or bat ear cuff, is made to inspire curiosity, teach conservation, and give back to the species that make Florida unique.

Their story began with a shared love of nature and a move to Florida that felt like coming home. Both lifelong ocean lovers, they spent one of their first summers in the Sunshine State volunteering with sea turtle conservation programs, racing along the shoreline at dawn to help protect nests. That experience transformed their creative vision and gave rise to Salty 3D Prints as a way to merge their technical skills with their passion for wildlife protection.

“For us, the creative process almost always starts with purpose,” they explain. “We don’t just make things because they look cool. We ask ourselves, what is this piece going to do? What’s the story? What kind of impact could it have?” This mindset shapes everything they create, from educational toys embedded with NFC chips that share videos about marine life to wearable art that sparks conversations about endangered species.

Their Florida bonneted bat ear cuff is one of their most meaningful designs. The pair was drawn to the bat’s mysterious nature and its importance as a native Florida species. They wanted to create something that would celebrate its beauty while raising awareness for its protection. After releasing the design, a customer shared that she was dressing as a Florida bonneted bat for Halloween, a moment that moved them deeply. “That moment meant so much to us because it showed how art, education, and impact can come together,” they said.

As they continue to expand their creative reach, Breanna and Alex stay grounded in their mission to inspire people to love and protect the natural world. “We didn’t start caring about conservation when we started a business,” they add. “We started a business because we cared so deeply.”
