Your License Plate Helped Fund These Spring Projects

Thanks to your support, especially everyone driving with our Protect Florida Springs license plate, we recently awarded 10 grants totaling $129,475 to projects focused on safeguarding Florida’s iconic springs. These funds are helping researchers, conservationists, and educators protect the wildlife, water quality, and natural beauty that make these ecosystems so vital.

This grant cycle is supporting efforts to restore native vegetation like eelgrass, monitor manatee health and behavior, study the impact of low oxygen on fish populations, and better understand the tiny but important creatures living in our spring-fed waters. It’s also helping expand citizen science programs like SPRINGSWATCH and fund new educational exhibits that teach Floridians and visitors why our springs matter.

We’re proud to back the work of trusted partners including the Clearwater Marine Aquarium Research Institute, the Howard T. Odum Florida Springs Institute, Save Crystal River, and Stetson University. These organizations are leading the way in spring conservation; your support makes their work possible.

When you choose a Protect Florida Springs license plate, you’re helping keep these natural treasures healthy, resilient, and protected for generations to come. You can save Florida’s springs by purchasing your own plate today.
