Thanks to your support, we’ve awarded 15 grants totaling $527,761 from proceeds of the Conserve Wildlife license plate! Every plate purchased contributes $25 directly to funding critical research and conservation efforts. These grants help protect Florida’s unique wildlife, ensuring a future for both well-loved and lesser-known species.
We’re proud to announce this year’s grants will make a real difference! They’re supporting everything from tracking the imperiled Say’s spiketail dragonfly to enhancing oyster reefs for American oystercatchers. We’re also funding bat education programs, genetic research on freshwater mussels, and investigations into the possible extinction of Florida’s salt marsh vole. Other projects focus on understanding contaminants affecting seaside sparrows, restoring sponge populations, and studying disease in Key deer.
