Dear Dani,
I love the idea of leaving a legacy but I’m not wealthy. Can someone with modest means still make a meaningful impact through planned giving?
— Legacy Dreamer, St. Petersburg, FL
Dear Legacy Dreamer,
Absolutely! You don’t have to be a billionaire to make a difference. The beauty of planned giving is that it’s about intention, not the size of the gift. Whether it’s $1,000 or $100,000, every contribution adds up and plays a vital role in protecting Florida’s wildlife for future generations.
Consider this: small gifts from many people create enormous impact. Think of 500 people giving $10,000 each—that’s $5 million for conservation efforts! And there are easy, flexible ways to make a gift that works for your budget, such as:
- Including the Foundation in your will: Designate a percentage or a specific amount—it’s simple and doesn’t affect your finances now.
- Naming the Foundation as a beneficiary: Add us to your retirement account, life insurance policy, or bank account. It’s as easy as updating a form!
- Giving through a charitable gift annuity: This option provides you with income for life, with the remainder supporting conservation.
Planned giving isn’t about the size of your bank account; it’s about ensuring your passion for Florida’s wildlife leaves a lasting legacy. If you’d like to explore your options further, don’t hesitate to reach out.
Warmly,
Dani
