Our Year in Numbers: Your Impact in 2024

As the year comes to a close, we’re thrilled to celebrate the incredible strides made in conservation thanks to your support. Here’s a look at the numbers that define your impact in 2024:

30 Years of Conserving Wild Florida

This year marked our 30th anniversary! Over three decades, we’ve raised and given away nearly $100 million to protect Florida’s wildlife and ecosystems. None of this would be possible without you—our dedicated supporters.

$1,980,000 Raised to Replant Aquatic Habitats

Underwater meadows are the unsung heroes of marine ecosystems, providing habitat for wildlife, improving water quality, and bolstering climate resilience. With your help, we made significant progress in restoring these critical habitats in the Indian River Lagoon.

995 life-saving rescues

Florida’s hurricane season tested us all, but our support for Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) first responders led to 995 life-saving rescues during emergencies, thanks in part to the $44,150 we raised and donated for hurricane response. Together, we helped safeguard both people and wildlife.

65 Landowners Partnering to Protect Florida Panthers

The FWC’s Payment for Ecosystem Services (PES) pilot program launched with your help, supporting private landowners who are critical to protecting panther habitats. Together, we secured $1.5 million in funding and contributed $400,000 directly to the program.

1,000th Endangered Florida Grasshopper Sparrow Released

This milestone marks a monumental achievement for the conservation-breeding program. The Florida grasshopper sparrow, one of the rarest birds in the country, is one step closer to recovery.

One Case of Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD)

Thanks to our continued investment in FWC’s monitoring and education programs, Florida has contained the spread of CWD, a devastating disease affecting deer. Only one case has been reported since monitoring began, a testament to proactive management.

284,000 Kids at FYCCN Camps

As Florida’s largest private funder of youth outdoor education, we’re proud to have supported the Florida Youth Conservation Centers Network (FYCCN) in connecting 284,000 kids to nature through camps and outdoor learning opportunities.

$1.8 Million Distributed Through 80 Grants

Your specialty license plate purchases directly funded research and conservation efforts, from protecting Florida’s freshwater springs and game species to battling invasive species. 80 grants totaling $1,843,537 went to organizations making a difference across the state.

One Million Baby Corals Born in the Florida Coral Rescue Center

The Florida Coral Rescue Center in Orlando houses more than 800 rescued corals from Florida’s Coral Reef, while encouraging spawning of endangered species for future outplanting. This year they welcomed 1,049,020 babies from six different species!

These numbers tell a story of resilience, growth, and hope for Florida’s wildlife and natural spaces. Together, we’ve achieved so much—and we’re just getting started. Here’s to building an even wilder future in 2025!
