John Pope Joins FWFF Board of Directors
The Fish & Wildlife Foundation of Florida (FWFF) has announced the appointment of John Pope to its Board of Directors. The newest member of the Board, Pope works as a financial advisor with Retirement Strategies, Inc. and resides in Jacksonville Florida with his wife Jane. They have three adult children.
Pope, a long time member of Ducks Unlimited (DU) since 1983, served as their 40th president, elected in 2009. As president, Pope continued DU’s progress with its continental campaign, Wetlands for Tomorrow, and bolstered their efforts to Rescue the Duck Factory by conserving waterfowl breeding habitat on the prairies.
John has a lifelong appreciation of nature. He credits his love for the great Florida outdoors to the days spent fishing and boating on the spring-fed waters of Crystal River and the nearby Gulf flats where his family spent their summer vacations and weekends.
“John Pope joining our Board of Directors is a huge win for us and Florida,” said Rodney Barreto, Chairman of the FWFF. “John’s knowledge and experience with the DU organization, married with his passion for conservation and his financial expertise, will serve FWFF and Florida well in the future.”
