St. Petersburg, FL (January 8, 2025) – The Fish & Wildlife Foundation of Florida is proud to announce the addition of seven exceptional leaders to its Board of Directors: Joe Neber, Townsend Tarapani, Todd Jones, Jim V. Etscorn, Ed Burr, Carlos Alfonso and Tucker Frederickson. These individuals bring an extraordinary depth of expertise and passion for conservation that will further the Foundation’s mission to conserve wild Florida.
Joe Neber is a pioneer in high-performance fishing boats as the founder of Contender Boats. A lifelong conservationist, Neber is dedicated to protecting fisheries and ensuring access for future generations of anglers. His innovative leadership and commitment to sustainability will greatly benefit the Foundation’s marine conservation initiatives.
Townsend Tarapani, an eighth-generation Floridian and real estate leader, has a deep-rooted passion for land management and conservation. His years of public service, including as Vice Mayor of Tarpon Springs, and dedication to passing outdoor traditions to future generations will strengthen the Foundation’s efforts.
Todd Jones, Executive Chairman of Publix Super Markets, brings decades of leadership experience and a strong commitment to fighting hunger and fostering community resilience. His extensive work with charitable organizations aligns with the Foundation’s values of stewardship and community impact.
Jim V. Etscorn, managing partner at BakerHostetler’s Orlando office and a seasoned trial lawyer, is renowned for his sound judgment and crisis management expertise. His legal acumen and passion for conservation will enhance the Foundation’s governance.
Ed Burr, Chairman and CEO of GreenPointe Holdings, is a visionary in real estate and community development. As the founder of the Monique Burr Foundation for Children, he brings a legacy of philanthropy and leadership that will expand the Foundation’s capacity for youth-focused conservation education.
Carlos Alfonso, an accomplished architect and real estate leader, has been a champion of wildlife conservation since his work on the Florida Constitution Revision Commission created the FWC and as a prior Foundation Board member. His extensive experience in governance and advocacy will further the Foundation’s conservation and outdoor heritage goals.
Tucker Frederickson, a former NFL star turned real estate developer, has dedicated himself to conserving south Florida’s wildlife and lands. His innovative land management practices and commitment to the environment make him an invaluable addition back to the Foundation’s Board.
