From sunrise over the Everglades to the 1,350 miles of coastline where Florida meets the sea, our state is bursting with natural wonders that make it one of a kind. This Earth Day, we’re celebrating everything wild and wonderful about the Sunshine State—and the five initiatives driving our mission to keep it that way: conserving wildlife, combatting invasive species, restoring coral reefs, getting kids back to nature, and preserving our outdoor heritage.
We’re working to conserve Florida’s most at-risk species, like the Florida grasshopper sparrow and bonneted bat, while removing invasive threats that disrupt ecosystems and outcompete native wildlife. We’re restoring Florida’s coral reefs—vital marine ecosystems that protect our coasts and support thousands of species. Through summer camps and outdoor classrooms, we’re helping the next generation form lasting bonds with the natural world. And we’re protecting the traditions that connect people to the land and water, from responsible hunting and fishing to accessible public lands.
Florida’s wild side is what makes it so special—and it needs us now more than ever. This Earth Day, we invite you to join us to keep Florida wild.
