Preserving Florida’s outdoor heritage means ensuring everyone, regardless of ability, can experience its beauty and adventure. Thanks to the generosity of NextEra Energy Foundation, the charitable arm of Florida Power & Light, and in partnership with SportsAbility Alliance, FWC, and our Foundation, two new EcoRover track chairs are making wild Florida more accessible than ever.
Unveiled at Blackwater Wildlife Management Area during an annual FWC-hosted hunt, these all-terrain track chairs are designed to empower mobility-impaired hunters and outdoor enthusiasts. Through SportsAbility Alliance’s ALLOUT program, these chairs will continue breaking down barriers, giving more Floridians the opportunity to enjoy nature on their own terms.
“Access to nature should be a right, not a privilege,” said Andrew Walker, President & CEO of the Fish & Wildlife Foundation of Florida. “Thanks to Florida Power & Light’s generosity, more individuals with mobility challenges will have the freedom to explore and hunt in wild Florida. This partnership underscores our commitment to inclusivity in the outdoors.”
These track chairs aren’t just equipment; they’re a gateway to adventure, independence, and lifelong memories. Together, we’re ensuring Florida’s great outdoors remains open to all.
