Mike Norberg brings a lifetime of Florida experience to the Foundation as our new Coastal Corridor Project Director. He grew up in the panhandle and earned his bachelor’s degree in marine biology from the University of West Florida and his master’s degree in marine science from the University of South Alabama’s Dauphin Island Sea Lab. Throughout his career, he has worked with state, federal, and local government agencies, focusing on fisheries and fisheries management, artificial reefs, habitat conservation and restoration, and bridging the gap between science and stakeholders across the Gulf Coast.
Along with several other leadership and project management roles, Mike has served on the Policy Board of the Pensacola & Perdido Bay Estuary Program and the Board of Directors of the Destin History and Fishing Museum. He has nearly 25 years of scuba diving experience and is a NAUI Divemaster, Scientific Diver, and technical diver. He also holds a U.S. Coast Guard OUPV Captain’s License and an FAA Private Pilot Certificate.
Outside of work, you’ll likely find him in the water, in the air, in the woods, or fabricating 3D and electronic projects.
